AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission 2026/2027: Requirements, Fees and How to Apply

    AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission 2026/2027

Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, has opened its supplementary admission application for the 2026/2027 academic session. The opportunity is aimed at candidates who applied to AE-FUNAI but have not yet received an admission offer and now want to be considered for selected programmes with available spaces.

The supplementary admission is not an entirely new admission exercise for everyone. It is specifically for candidates who previously applied to AE-FUNAI and meet the university’s conditions for the advertised programmes. Candidates must also pay attention to their JAMB UTME score and O’Level subject combination before selecting a course.

There is also an important deadline update. AE-FUNAI’s original supplementary admission notice stated that applications would close on September 25, 2026, with no extension. However, the university’s current application portal now displays October 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM as the deadline for the 2026/2027 Supplementary UTME Admission. Candidates should therefore work with the deadline currently displayed on the official application portal.

Who Is Eligible for AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission?

The university has set out specific conditions for candidates interested in the supplementary admission exercise.

    You may apply if:

    • You previously applied for admission into AE-FUNAI for the 2026/2027 academic session.
    • You have not yet been offered admission.
    • You scored at least 150 in the 2026 JAMB UTME.
    • Your UTME and O’Level subject combinations meet the requirements for the programme you want to select.
    • You are prepared to effect a change of course on JAMB CAPS to the advertised supplementary programme.

One useful point is that AE-FUNAI says candidates who applied to the university are eligible whether or not they registered for the university’s Post-UTME exercise, provided they meet the other conditions.

Candidates should not select a course simply because their JAMB score meets the general 150 mark. Some supplementary programmes have higher minimum screening scores.

AE-FUNAI Supplementary Courses and Minimum Scores

AE-FUNAI has advertised supplementary admission opportunities across nine faculties. The minimum screening score depends on the programme.

The university’s supplementary admission notice does not list Medicine, Law or Nursing among the advertised supplementary programmes. Candidates should therefore select only from the programmes officially listed for the supplementary exercise.

    AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission Fee

The application processing fee is ₦5,000.

Candidates should be careful about making payments only through the official supplementary admission process. The university’s published procedure directs applicants to the AE-FUNAI supplementary admission portal, where candidates validate their JAMB registration details and proceed with the payment process.

The ₦5,000 is the supplementary admission registration fee. It should not be confused with tuition or other university charges that may become applicable after admission.

How to Apply for AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission

The registration process is online and can be completed through the university’s application portal.

Step 1: Visit the AE-FUNAI application portal

Go to the official AE-FUNAI application portal and select the 2026/2027 Supplementary UTME Admission option.

Step 3: Provide your contact details

Enter a valid email address and phone number. Make sure you use an email account and phone number you can access because the university’s application process uses email verification.

    Step 4: Verify your email

An OTP will be sent to your registered email address. Enter the verification code as instructed by the portal.

Step 5: Pay the ₦5,000 fee

Follow the payment instructions provided on the portal and transfer the complete application fee to the account provided.

    Step 6: Confirm payment

After completing the transfer, select the option indicating that payment has been made so that you can proceed with the registration.

Step 7: Complete the supplementary application

Provide the required information and select an advertised programme for which you meet the UTME and O’Level requirements.

    Step 8: Check your email

The registration acknowledgement will be sent to your registered email address. Keep this information safely for your records.

Do You Need to Change Your Course on JAMB CAPS?

Yes. This is one of the requirements candidates should not overlook.

AE-FUNAI states that candidates must effect a change of course on JAMB CAPS to the advertised programme they intend to apply for through the supplementary admission exercise.

This means submitting the supplementary application alone is not enough. Candidates should also make sure their JAMB record reflects the appropriate course change where required.

Before changing the course, applicants should confirm that their UTME subjects and O’Level subjects satisfy the requirements of the new programme.

    What About O’Level Results?

Your O’Level subject combination matters when applying for supplementary admission.

AE-FUNAI specifically instructs candidates to consider their JAMB UTME and O’Level subject combinations before applying for any of the advertised programmes. This is important because meeting the minimum UTME score does not automatically mean that a candidate meets the subject requirements for a particular degree.

Candidates should therefore check the required subjects for their chosen programme before paying the application fee.

    AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission Deadline

The university’s original supplementary admission announcement stated September 25, 2026 as the closing date and said there would be no extension.

However, the current AE-FUNAI application portal displays October 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM as the deadline for the 2026/2027 Supplementary UTME Admission.

Because the live university portal is currently displaying the later date, applicants should use October 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM as the operative deadline, while completing their applications as early as possible.

    Does Supplementary Admission Guarantee Admission?

    No.

Applying for supplementary admission does not mean that a candidate has automatically secured admission.

Candidates must meet the requirements of the selected programme, including the required UTME score and appropriate subject combinations. The university will consider eligible applicants for the advertised programmes according to its admission process.

Applicants should also provide accurate information. AE-FUNAI states that if false information is discovered at any stage of the screening or admission exercise, the candidate’s application may be automatically disqualified.

A Simple Checklist Before You Apply

To reduce mistakes and unnecessary stress, candidates can go through this checklist before submitting the application:

    • Confirm that you applied to AE-FUNAI.
    • Confirm that you have not already received an admission offer.
    • Check that your 2026 UTME score is at least 150.
    • Check the specific minimum score for your chosen supplementary programme.
    • Confirm that your UTME subjects match the programme.
    • Confirm that your O’Level subjects meet the programme requirements.
    • Make the required change of course on JAMB CAPS.
    • Prepare a valid email address and phone number.
    • Pay the official ₦5,000 application fee.
    • Complete the online registration.
    • Keep your registration acknowledgement safely.
    • Do not wait until the deadline to begin the process.

    Final Thoughts

The AE-FUNAI supplementary admission exercise gives eligible candidates who have not yet received admission another opportunity to be considered for selected programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The general minimum UTME score for the exercise is 150, although some programmes require higher scores, including 160 for Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. Candidates must also ensure that their JAMB UTME and O’Level subject combinations are suitable for the programme they choose.

The supplementary application fee is ₦5,000, and candidates are required to make the appropriate course change on JAMB CAPS. The current official application portal lists October 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM as the deadline, so eligible applicants should complete the process before the portal closes.
