Miva Open University
Miva Open University has opened applications for its upcoming admission cohort, providing prospective students with an alternative route into undergraduate degree programmes without submitting JAMB UTME results at the application stage. The university, which is licensed by the National Universities Commission, currently lists admission for its January 2027 cohort as ongoing.
Applicants seeking 100-Level admission are required to provide a copy of their O’Level result with at least five relevant credit passes obtained in no more than two sittings. The required subjects vary according to the programme, but English Language and Mathematics are among the requirements for many of the university’s degree programmes. Miva’s application information states that submission of JAMB results is not mandatory at this stage.
The university explains that candidates who apply without JAMB results will still have their academic credentials verified after admission. Miva states that JAMB regularisation will be obtained as part of the process where required. This means applicants should not interpret the admission route as removing all JAMB-related formalities from the overall admission process.
Miva Open University offers undergraduate programmes across areas including computing, management and social sciences, education and health-related disciplines. Its current programme information includes courses such as Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Political Science, International Relations and Diplomacy, Public Health and other programmes.
The university also provides Direct Entry and inter-university transfer routes for eligible applicants. Direct Entry candidates may qualify through recognised qualifications such as ND, NCE, HND, IJMB, JUPEB, A-Level certificates and certain professional qualifications, depending on the programme. Miva’s admissions information also states that applications are free.
Prospective students interested in the January 2027 admission cohort should review the requirements for their preferred programme before submitting an application. The university’s admission schedule states that applications for the January 2027 cohort began in October 2026, with classes scheduled to commence in January 2027. Candidates should use Miva’s official admissions information for the latest requirements and application instructions.
