If your school of choice is not on the list at the moment, you are advised to check regularly to know when it has been added. How to Check Your Admission Status on JAMB CAPS

Whether your school has been listed above or not, the primary way to confirm your personal admission status remains the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). Here is the general process:

    1. Visit the JAMB e-Facility portal at the official JAMB website.
    2. Log in using the email address and password linked to your JAMB profile.
    3. Locate and click on “Check Admission Status” on your dashboard.
    4. Select the correct examination year (2026) when prompted.
    5. Enter your JAMB registration number if requested.
    6. Click “Access My CAPS” to open your CAPS dashboard.
    7. Open the “Admission Status” section to see your current standing.

If admission has been offered, you will typically see options to Accept or Reject the offer. Where no offer is yet available, these options may appear greyed out, meaning your application is still being processed or reviewed by your chosen institution.

Common CAPS Statuses and What They Mean

    • Admission Offered: Your institution has recommended you, and JAMB has approved the offer. You can proceed to accept or reject it.
    • Admission In Progress / Being Considered: Your school is still reviewing your profile. This is a positive sign but not yet a confirmed offer.
    • Not Admitted: No offer has been recorded yet. This does not necessarily mean you have been rejected outright, especially if admissions are still being processed in batches.
    • Transfer Approval: You may have been offered a course or institution different from your first choice. Review this carefully before accepting or rejecting.

Candidates can also check their status using a smartphone browser, though it is generally recommended to switch to “Desktop Site” or “Desktop Mode” if the CAPS options do not display properly in standard mobile view.

Accepting or Rejecting an Admission Offer

Once an offer appears on your CAPS dashboard:

    • Carefully review the institution, course, and mode of entry before responding.
    • If satisfied, select “Accept” to confirm your admission.
    • If you wish to remain available for another opportunity, select “Reject.” Rejecting an offer does not disqualify you from being considered by other institutions in later batches.
    • Once you accept or reject an offer, the decision is treated as final, so take time to review the offer before responding.

Admission offers can also be accepted through SMS using the phone number registered with JAMB, which allows candidates to respond personally without sharing their login credentials with a third party.

    After Accepting Admission

    • Print your official JAMB admission letter directly from your CAPS dashboard once your offer has been accepted.
    • Keep both a digital and hard copy of this letter, as it is often required during your institution’s clearance and registration process.
    • Visit your institution’s admission portal for additional instructions, including acceptance fees, clearance schedules, and required documents.
    • Ensure your O’Level results have been correctly uploaded where required, as this is a common source of delay in the clearance process.
    • Monitor your school’s official portal regularly, since some institutions communicate clearance updates only through their own websites rather than through JAMB CAPS.

Why Some Schools Have Not Released Their Lists Yet

It is normal for admission lists to be released at different times across institutions. Some schools release only a merit list initially, followed by first, second, third, and even fourth batches as more candidates are processed. Others may still be conducting screening exercises, verifying O’Level results, or finalizing quota allocations before uploading names to JAMB CAPS.

If your institution of choice is not yet on this list, it does not necessarily mean anything is wrong with your application. Continue checking your JAMB CAPS profile regularly, and keep an eye on your school’s official admission or student affairs portal for updates.

Tips for Candidates Still Awaiting Admission

    • Log into your JAMB e-Facility profile at least once every few days to check for status changes.
    • Avoid relying solely on rumors or unofficial sources; always confirm admission status directly on JAMB CAPS or your school’s verified portal.
    • Keep your JAMB registration number, email, and password secure and easily accessible, since you will need them repeatedly throughout the admission and clearance process.
    • Where a status shows “Admission In Progress,” continue monitoring rather than assuming rejection, as many candidates in this category go on to receive offers in later batches.
    • Prepare your required documents (O’Level results, birth certificate, local government identification, passport photographs) in advance so you are ready to proceed quickly once an offer is confirmed.

    Conclusion

The 2026/2027 admission exercise is progressing steadily, with universities, polytechnics, and other institutions releasing admission lists in stages through JAMB CAPS and their individual portals. Institutions such as UNIBEN, UNIZIK, KWASU, LASU, EBSU, IAUE, UNIDEL, SAZU, OAUSTECH, Adeleke University, Al-Istiqama University, and NMU are among those that have already released updates, alongside several federal polytechnics and the Federal Unity Colleges’ JSS1 list.

Candidates whose schools have not yet appeared on this list are encouraged to remain patient and continue checking both JAMB CAPS and their institution’s portal regularly. This page will continue to be updated as additional schools announce their 2026/2027 admission lists. For details on how to check your admission status via JAMB CAPS. CLICK HERE.
