UNICROSS
The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has commenced its admission process for candidates seeking undergraduate admission for the 2026/2027 academic session. However, candidates should note that the university’s official admission-status page has not yet been updated to confirm the release of the 2026/2027 admission list on JAMB CAPS.
UNICROSS opened its 2026/2027 First Choice Admission Screening Exercise for UTME and Direct Entry candidates earlier in the admission cycle. The university states that candidates who selected UNICROSS as their first choice and scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME are eligible for the screening exercise, while candidates who initially selected another institution can process a change of institution to UNICROSS through JAMB.
Candidates awaiting admission should regularly check their JAMB CAPS profile because admissions can be processed and released in batches. JAMB explains that CAPS allows candidates to check their admission status and confirm provisional admission offers. Therefore, candidates should not depend solely on admission lists circulated through social media or unofficial websites.
Candidates who eventually receive an admission offer on JAMB CAPS should carefully review the programme and institution details before accepting the offer. Those offered admission should also follow the required JAMB procedures and keep their admission documents available for subsequent registration and clearance at UNICROSS.
Candidates who do not yet see an admission offer should remain patient and continue checking CAPS and the university’s official admission channels. The absence of an offer at this stage does not necessarily mean that a candidate has been finally excluded, particularly while the admission process for the session is still ongoing.
Prospective students should therefore treat any claim that the complete 2026/2027 UNICROSS admission list is already out with caution until it is reflected on the official JAMB CAPS platform or confirmed by the university. Further updates should be obtained from UNICROSS and JAMB as the admission exercise progresses.
