FUTA 2026 Admission Guide
The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has released its 2026/2027 admission information, and candidates can check their admission status through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admissions Processing System (JAMB CAPS). An admission offer on CAPS is only the beginning of the process. Successful candidates still need to accept the offer and complete the registration requirements set by FUTA before they can be fully cleared as students.
To check the admission status, candidates should log in to their JAMB profile and select the option for checking admission status. They can then access CAPS and open the Admission Status section to see the decision on their application. Candidates using a mobile phone who cannot see all the CAPS options may need to switch their browser to desktop view. Candidates should also check the information carefully to ensure that the institution and programme shown correspond with their application.
Candidates who receive an admission offer should accept it through the approved JAMB process. After acceptance, the next task is to follow FUTA’s own registration procedure. The university’s registration instructions require fresh students to verify their acceptance fee and create an account on the student registration platform before completing their biodata and other registration forms. Candidates are advised to use a personal phone number and email address because these details are used for communication during their studies.
Newly admitted students should prepare the documents required for FUTA’s registration and screening. The university lists documents such as a birth certificate, certificate of origin, court affidavit, attestation letter, passport photograph and O’Level result. A JAMB admission letter may also be required, while Direct Entry candidates are expected to provide their relevant ND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB or A-Level qualification. Students without a JAMB admission letter are instructed to report to the university’s admission office on resumption.
After completing the online forms, students should review their information before final submission and print the resulting preview or report page. FUTA’s registration instructions state that students who pass the required screening can proceed with school-fee payment. The university’s current registration information also shows that confirmed school-fee payment is required before course registration, while accommodation is a separate process for students who wish to apply for a place in the university’s halls.
Candidates should therefore treat admission acceptance as the first major step rather than the final stage of the process. After accepting a FUTA offer, they should complete the university’s registration requirements, submit the required credentials, confirm payments and complete course registration within the applicable deadlines. Students should rely on FUTA’s official portal and announcements for current fees, registration dates and any changes to the 2026/2027 admission process rather than relying on older figures or unofficial instructions.
