FUHSATT Opens 2026/2027 Basic and Remedial Studies Admission
The Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe (FUHSATT) has opened applications for its School of Basic and Remedial Studies for the 2026/2027 academic session. The one-session programme is designed for candidates who need to strengthen their O’Level qualifications while preparing for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and possible progression into undergraduate programmes at the university.
The programme provides instruction in key subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. FUHSATT explains that the programme is intended to help candidates address deficiencies in core subjects and prepare for UTME. The university’s programme information states that candidates must register and sit for UTME during the remedial year as part of the progression requirements.
Candidates can apply with a minimum of three O’Level credits obtained in not more than two sittings. Students with deficiencies in English, Mathematics or relevant science subjects can use the programme to work toward the five credits required for progression to a degree programme. Successful candidates are expected to obtain five relevant O’Level credits, achieve the required UTME performance and pass the remedial programme with an average of at least 50 percent.
FUHSATT says the programme runs for about nine to 12 months and includes continuous assessment, semester examinations, mock UTME preparation and coaching for relevant secondary school examinations. The programme is intended to serve as a feeder route into selected undergraduate courses for candidates who satisfy the university’s progression conditions after completing their remedial studies.
For the 2026/2027 intake, applications are scheduled to close on November 4, 2026, while the programme is expected to begin in November. The reported application fee is ₦10,000 for Nigerian applicants and US$10 for foreign applicants. Applications are submitted through the School of Basic and Remedial Studies application portal, after which applicants should confirm their payment and print the acknowledgement slip for their records.
Prospective applicants should study the progression requirements carefully before submitting an application. Completing the remedial programme does not by itself guarantee admission into a degree programme, as candidates must meet the required O’Level credits, UTME score and other university conditions. Applicants should therefore keep their academic records accurate and follow FUHSATT’s official instructions throughout the programme and subsequent admission process.
