UNILORIN Begins 2026/2027 Admission Upload on JAMB CAPS
The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has begun uploading admission names for candidates seeking undergraduate admission for the 2026/2027 academic session to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Central Admissions Processing System, known as JAMB CAPS. The development means candidates who completed the university’s admission process can now start checking their JAMB profiles for admission offers as the university continues its admission exercise.
The uploading process is being carried out in batches, so candidates should not expect all admission decisions to appear at the same time. The university had earlier assured candidates that those who merit admission would be offered places, following the completion of the 2026 Post-UTME screening exercise. UNILORIN’s admission process considers the candidate’s UTME or A’Level performance, Post-UTME screening result and relevant O’Level grades when determining admission.
Candidates who applied to UNILORIN should log into their JAMB profile and access the CAPS section to check their admission status. If an admission offer appears, the candidate should carefully confirm the institution and programme before accepting the offer through the appropriate JAMB process. Candidates whose profiles still show no admission should continue checking because UNILORIN is uploading names in stages.
Receiving an admission offer on JAMB CAPS is an important stage, but candidates should still complete the university’s subsequent admission requirements. They should keep their JAMB details, O’Level credentials and other relevant documents available for clearance and registration. Candidates should also follow the instructions issued by UNILORIN rather than relying on messages or admission lists circulated through unofficial channels.
The timing of the admission upload is particularly important because UNILORIN has already commenced its 2026/2027 academic session. According to the university’s published academic calendar, both new and returning students were expected to resume from October 5, 2026, with registration scheduled to run until October 23. Lectures for the Harmattan Semester are scheduled to begin on October 19.
Candidates who participated in the 2026/2027 UNILORIN admission exercise should therefore continue monitoring JAMB CAPS and the university’s official admission information. Those who receive offers should act promptly and complete the required acceptance, clearance and registration procedures. Applicants still awaiting admission should not assume that they have been unsuccessful simply because their CAPS status has not changed, as the uploading of names is continuing in batches.
