DELSU 2026/2027 Academic Calendar
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has released its academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session, outlining the dates for student resumption, registration, orientation, matriculation, lectures, examinations and semester breaks. The schedule provides important information for newly admitted and returning students preparing for the new academic year. According to reports published on October 9 and 10, 2026, fresh students are expected to resume on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The first semester will begin with the arrival of fresh students on October 25, followed by medical examinations and screening on October 26. Orientation for new students is scheduled for November 4 to 6, while matriculation will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Returning students are expected back on campus on Sunday, November 8, and course registration and lectures for all students will begin on Monday, November 9.
Students should pay attention to the registration deadlines to avoid additional charges. Applications for resumption of studies are scheduled to close on November 13, 2026, while regular course registration ends on December 4. Late registration will run from December 7 to 11, with penalty fees applying. December 14 is the final date for adding, modifying or deleting courses. The deadline for temporary withdrawal or deferment is January 8, 2027.
First-semester lectures are scheduled to end on February 12, 2027, followed by revision from February 15 to 19. Examinations will take place from February 22 to March 12, 2027. After the examinations, students will proceed on a two-week semester break scheduled for March 15 to 26. Students should confirm their individual departmental requirements and examination arrangements through the university’s official communication channels.
For the second semester, all students are expected to return to campus on Sunday, March 28, 2027, while lectures will begin on Monday, March 29. The deadline for submitting Continuous Assessment scores is June 25, and the final week of lectures is scheduled for June 28 to July 2. Second-semester examinations will run from July 5 to 23, 2027, after which the semester break will begin.
The calendar lists September 8, 2027, for Senate consideration of second-semester results and October 17 for the end of the semester break. The first semester of the 2027/2028 academic session is scheduled to begin on October 18, 2027. Students should save the dates, monitor official university announcements for any revisions and complete their registration and other required procedures within the stated deadlines.
