Al-Istiqama University Admission 2026/2027: Latest Updates, Admission List and Next Steps

Al-Istiqama University Admission 2026/2027

Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano State, has commenced its 2026/2027 undergraduate admission process, with admission updates now available for candidates who applied for the academic session. The university has released its first-batch admission list, meaning candidates who participated in the admission exercise can begin checking their admission status and confirming whether they have been offered provisional admission. Al-Istiqama University is among the institutions that have started releasing admission decisions for the 2026/2027 session.

Candidates who applied for admission should check the Al-Istiqama University admission portal using their application details. Those who find their names on the admission list are required to log into their individual dashboards, accept the admission offer and print evidence of acceptance for their records. Candidates should also check JAMB CAPS because the university admission offer may need to be accepted through the JAMB system before the admission process can be completed. Applicants are advised to keep copies of their admission and acceptance documents for subsequent clearance and registration.

The 2026/2027 admission exercise covers candidates seeking admission through UTME and Direct Entry routes. The university’s application portal states that the minimum UTME score for the admission exercise is 150 and above. Candidates are expected to have the appropriate UTME subject combination for their selected programme and satisfy the university’s O’Level and other admission requirements. Applicants who initially selected another institution but later decided to seek admission into Al-Istiqama University are required to complete the appropriate change-of-institution process through JAMB before proceeding with the university’s admission requirements.

Candidates who have been offered admission should pay close attention to the next stage of the process. After accepting the offer, they should monitor information from the university concerning physical screening, document verification, clearance, acceptance fees and registration. The university’s admission instructions indicate that candidates may be required to attend screening in person with original academic credentials, JAMB documents and other relevant records. Applicants should ensure that their O’Level results, JAMB information and personal details are accurate and consistent to avoid difficulties during verification.

For candidates who are still waiting for an admission decision, the release of the first batch does not necessarily mean that the entire admission exercise has ended. Al-Istiqama University has previously released admission offers in batches, and candidates who have not yet seen their names should continue checking the university’s admission portal and JAMB CAPS for further updates. Candidates should also avoid relying on unofficial messages claiming that an admission offer has been issued. The safest approach is to confirm any admission directly through the university’s official admission platform and JAMB where applicable.

Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, received a full operational licence from the National Universities Commission following an assessment of the institution. The university has also secured full accreditation for 11 programmes following the 2025 accreditation exercise, covering programmes across areas including health, arts, social sciences and computing. Candidates considering the institution should therefore check the specific status and requirements of their chosen programme before completing admission and registration.
